What is RF microneedling?

Radiofrequency microneedling combines microneedling with controlled heat delivered beneath the surface. It is used for texture, enlarged pores, some acne scarring and mild laxity.

May help with

  • Rolling and boxcar acne scars
  • Enlarged pores and uneven texture
  • Mild skin laxity

Who it may suit

  • Adults with textural concerns or stable acne scarring

What we assess first

  • Active acne, infection or eczema in the area
  • Pacemakers or metal implants in the treatment area
  • History of keloid scarring

How does RF microneedling work?

Micro-injuries and heat trigger the skin's wound-healing response, encouraging new collagen and elastin over the following months.

What happens during the appointment?

Numbing cream is applied for 45 minutes. The handpiece is then passed over the skin in a planned pattern.

Every plan starts with a consultation with Dr. Priya Raman or another member of the medical team. Read our patient information before your visit.

Frequently asked questions

How is it different from standard microneedling?

The added radiofrequency heat works at deeper levels, which may suit scarring and laxity, with slightly more downtime.

What is the difference between RF microneedling and microneedling?

Standard microneedling makes tiny channels in the skin to prompt repair. RF microneedling adds radiofrequency heat through insulated needles, which reaches deeper and tightens more. It suits acne scars, enlarged pores and early laxity, but it has a little more downtime, usually two to five days of redness.

Does RF microneedling help acne scars?

RF microneedling can soften rolling and boxcar acne scars by stimulating new collagen under the scar. Most people need about three sessions, four to six weeks apart, and improvement continues for three to six months. Scars usually become less noticeable rather than disappearing, and deep ice-pick scars may need other treatment.

How much does RF microneedling cost in Dubai?

At Luméra Clinic, RF microneedling starts from AED 1,500 per session for the face, and a typical course is three sessions. The neck or a combined face and neck treatment costs more. Your exact course price is confirmed in writing at consultation.
