Targeted laser treatment for selected types of sun spots and uneven pigment.
Medically reviewed by Dr. Priya Raman, Dermatologist. Last reviewed .

Some pigmented lesions, such as sun spots, can respond well to laser. Other types, such as melasma, need a more cautious approach. A practitioner must assess any pigmented lesion first; anything unusual is referred for medical examination.
Laser energy is absorbed by excess pigment, breaking it into smaller particles that the body clears over the following weeks.
After cleansing and eye protection, short pulses are applied to target spots. A rubber-band snap sensation is common.
Every plan starts with a consultation with Dr. Priya Raman or another member of the medical team. Read our patient information before your visit.

Treated spots typically darken, then flake and fade over two to four weeks. New pigmentation can develop with sun exposure.
Typical duration of results: Treated spots stay lighter with daily sun protection. Price: From AED 800 per session.

Melasma is usually managed first with skincare and sun protection. Any energy-based treatment is considered very cautiously by the practitioner.
Laser pigmentation treatment can clear or greatly lighten individual sun spots, often in one to three sessions. The treated spots usually stay lighter, but new spots can form with further sun exposure. Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 50 is the most important way to keep results after treatment.
Laser is not usually the first choice for melasma, because heat can trigger it to darken. Melasma is typically managed with prescription creams, gentle peels and strict sun protection. In selected cases a dermatologist may add low-energy laser. Luméra confirms the pigment type before recommending laser pigmentation treatment.
At Luméra Clinic, laser pigmentation treatment starts from AED 800 per session. Most sun spots need one to four sessions, depending on the type and depth of pigment. Your dermatologist confirms the number of sessions and the full price in writing at your consultation.
